Will joined Clinicenta in 2005 to provide bid leadership for the Wave 2 programme for Diagnostics and Treatment Centres. For the past six years Will has been a Healthcare Management Consultant, whose assignments have included:
- Interim Director of Operations for a PCT
- Project Co-ordinator for overseas hospital management contracts for a leading UK international organisation
- Bid Manager for Patient Choice Partners, now Clinicenta, on Wave 1 Diagnostic & Treatment Centres
- Business development for a Harley Street Medical Centre
- Work for the NHS on placing waiting list cases and private patient unit viability
- Assessment of cancer centre networks for the private sector
- Researching opportunities for extending vocational learning within healthcare
Prior to this Will held a number of senior positions in healthcare management, initially 15 years in the NHS (National Training Scheme and District General Administrator, Kensington, Chelsea & Westminster AHA [T] based at the Middlesex Hospital), before pursuing a career in the private hospital sector.
He spent a further 15 years with BMI Healthcare (previously AMI) as Director of Planning and Technical Services (Directed major projects, including planning, design, and construction of 6 new hospitals, winning the first HSJ “Management of Healthcare” award for the completion in record time of the Alexandra Hospital, in Manchester); Executive Director of the Clementine Churchill Hospital in Harrow, NW London; Director of Corporate Health Services and Director of Operations for the group’s southern hospitals (eleven, including two partnership hospitals located on NHS sites).
Subsequently he was with Nuffield Hospitals for 7 years as Divisional General Manager for the Eastern Division comprising 17 hospitals and the company’s health screening business.
