Jonathan joined the Clinicenta senior management team to lead the Clinical development strategy during the bid and mobilisation phase of all Clinicenta projects.
Jonathan has been a registered nurse for over 26 years working mainly in critical care. He has held general management positions in major Teaching Hospitals. Since 1990 he has held Board level positions as Director of Clinical services, Director of Nursing and Quality and Chief Nurse/Deputy Chief Executive at Addenbrookes Hospital Cambridge, The Oxford Radcliffe Hospital and Barts and The London NHS Trust. He was Interim Chief Executive at Barts and The London from August 2000 to September 2001.
In May 2001 he was appointed by the secretary of State to be the Inaugural President of the Nursing and Midwifery Council. In October 2003 Jonathan was appointed as the National Clinical Director for Emergency Care at the NHS Modernisation Agency responsible for leading the improvement in Patient experience of emergency care across England. Jonathan Chaired the review of adult critical care nursing for England in 1999 which made a major contribution to comprehensive critical care, which formed the basis of the reform of critical care services across the country.
Jonathan has undertaken a number of consultancy assignments both national and international including the Palestinian Ministry of Health, The Government of Gibraltar, The Welsh Assembly Government, The Matar Hospital Nairobi and the Spanish College of Physicians. He currently sits on the International Council of Nurses Observatory on Licensure and Regulation.
