Your Initial Consultation

Day Case Surgery - North London

If you have chosen to receive your treatment by Clinicenta you will have received a letter asking you to attend an appointment. The following information explains what you need to do and what to expect at an appointment.

What do I need to bring to my outpatient appointment?

  • The letter confirming your appointment and any information you have been requested to bring.
  • A diary for making future appointments
  • The name, address and telephone number of your GP and any other specialists who care for you
  • Bring all your current medications in their labelled containers with you.
  • A list of any questions you would like to ask

When you arrive, go straight to the Clinicenta reception to sign-in at the desk where a of member of the team will inform the clinic staff of your arrival.

Your outpatient appointment will consist of:

  • You will meet with one of our nurses who will take details of your medical history, medicines that you are using and any allergies you may have. Please give as much information as possible so that we achieve the best result for your treatment.
  • The nurse will weigh you, take your temperature and check your blood pressure, pulse, breathing and urine sample.
  • Your consultant will examine you and perform any required additional diagnostic tests.

If you consent to surgery

  • The benefits and risks of your procedure/surgery will be discussed and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions.
  • We will obtain your informed and written consent for the proposed surgery at the same time.
  • You will undergo a pre-operative assessment by the nurse to highlight any further tests required or provide treatment before surgery.
  • A member of our team will give you more detailed information about your proposed surgery and care including information for you to take home.
  • You will be given a date and time when we will admit you to the hospital / treatment centre for your surgery.
